10am Choral Eucharist with Footsteps for Children – sermon: The Vicar. The organist at this service will be Nicholas Ansdell-Evans and the Cello Workshop meeting in this church during the weekend will be providing some of the music for the service.
12noon Holy Baptisms: Hermione & Phoenix ANDREWS
The church continues to receive Harvest gifts (non-perishables) to be given to the refugee welcome centre at the Copleston Centre. We are currently keeping the gifts in the church as there are more school harvest services planned. Many thanks to our congregation and to Dulwich Wood Primary School who have contributed so far.
The next CCJ event will be this Tuesday 17 October 8pm to 9.30 at St Stephen’s, refreshments will be served from 7.45pm. It will look at recent developments in spirituality and prayer in the Jewish and Christian tradition, speakers will include Chris Chapman, sometime spirituality advisor to the Bishop of Southwark and author of the book ‘Seeing in the Dark’ and Rabbi Dr Robert Harris, who teaches Bible at the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York. Rabbi Harris will participate in Tuesday’s session via live video internet link.
Eleanor Bracken will give a flower arranging talk in this church THIS Wednesday 18 October at 10.45am. Tickets £5 in aid of church funds (further information from Maria 020 8699 3078 – 07884 018766).
Maria Branchini & the Social Committee are organising a BARN DANCE in this church on Saturday 21 October 7 – 9.30pm, proceeds will go to church funds. Tickets £5 per person available from Maria (020 8699 3078 – 07884 018766)
Our annual QUIZ NIGHT with fish & chip supper will be on Saturday 18 November 7pm. Tickets £10 adults, £5 children.
There will be a confirmation service here on Sunday 26 November with the Bishop of Woolwich, Bishop Karowei. Confirmation preparation classes for this are now underway.
The PCC, the Vicar and the churchwardens are currently engaged in a stewardship campaign, encouraging all of us to consider increasing our voluntary and sacrificial giving to this church so that we can meet our financial obligations. Please take home the letters associated with this campaign.
