Youth Club
‘Da best of da best’
St. Stephen’s Youth Group
St. Stephens youth group was formed earlier this year and meets every other Friday 6.30-8.30 during term time. We also have outings at least once a term. Our evenings are a mix of free-time, games, activities and end with a short time of prayerful reflection on the evening.
The group is open to all young people aged 10 and over and we ask young people to bring a £1 subscription each time they attend.
But you can come for your first time for free!
The youth group aims to do three things:
Be Fun:
Giving young people a chance to let off steam, have a laugh and play games.
Make Friends:
We hope to build a group of friends and to develop the social skills of young people, as they begin to take greater responsibility for their lives.
Explore Faith:
As a Church youth group, we aim to build young people’s understanding of and commitment to the Christian faith through discussion, prayer and action. We believe that the best way to do this is to respect and take young people seriously and make connections with their interests and lifestyle.
Currently we have plans for a cooking evening a DVD evening, a drama evening, indoor sports evening, board games evening and music sharing evening.
Safety:
The group is open to all young people aged 10 and over. Those attending will need to complete a permission form from their parents and will need to abide by the basic rules of the group. Download the permission form here.
We are in the process of completing CRB checks for all our helpers. We work within our wider Church Child Protection Policy and are happy for parents or carers to come and attend an evening to see how it works.
