Too young
“I am too young to bother with facebook”… that is my feeble excuse when people ask me whether I am a participant. The problem is that I keep on forgetting how the site works, and whenever I get enticed back on I notice that those amongst my friends who are most busy on the site are indeed mostly even older than me.
The advantages of snapchat
Snapchat seems to be the latest go-to social network for younger people and even though it is losing money hand over fist, it is expected to raise a mouth-watering £ 20 billion for its developers and early backers at the forthcoming stock market floatation in the coming few days. It is amazing to think that the development of a single App can be so astonishingly profitable. The idea behind snapchat seems to be that one can post things that totally evaporate without trace after they have been viewed once. This is in stark contrast to the more established social media platforms like facebook and Linkedin, where once something is posted it remains there or somewhere for ever, however much you may try and delete it.
Our lives
In our lives and especially in our lives as Christians we know that all actions have consequences and that we must face up to what we have said and done especially if we have hurt others. On the other hand we also believe that God through Jesus can help us to wipe our record clean, and we can have a fresh start unburdened of some of our silly mistakes of the past.
