Annual Meeting of the Parishioners & APCM

Two meetings must be held each year before 31 May.
1st –  Annual Meeting of Parishioners at which Churchwardens are elected;
2nd – Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) – usually held one after the other on the same day and at the same venue.

Annual Meeting of Parishioners

Purpose: to elect the Churchwardens.

Who may attend and vote: all members of the Church Electoral Roll and those resident in the parish and on the Civil Voters List.

Annual Parochial Church Meeting

Only members of the Church Electoral Roll may speak and vote.

Essential business: The APCM shall receive from the PCC and shall be free to discuss:

  • A copy of the Electoral Roll
  • An Annual Report on the proceedings of the PCC and the activities of the Parish generally
  • The financial statements of the PCC for the year preceding 31 December, independently examined, or audited
  • Audited statements of funds or property if any, remaining in the hands of the PCC at the preceding 31 December
  • A report on the fabric, plate, and ornaments of the church
  • A report on the proceedings of the Deanery Synod

There is a copy of the electoral roll at the back of the church.  Membership of the electoral roll gives you a right to vote at our Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) and also to be put forward for election to the Parochial Church Council (PCC).

If you would like to be included on the roll, please collect a form from the back of the church or download one here which can be filled in on your computer.  Please save the document with your name and return to the office here.  You can download a form to print here.

The Parochial Church Council (PCC) – this meets regularly to manage the running of the church.

Members of the congregation are entitled to see copies of the minutes of PCC meetings (excluding certain confidential matters). If you would like to see copies of those minutes, please contact the PCC secretary PCCSec@ststephensdulwich.org
