We have received this message from Jenny Masterson who is a member of St Thomas’ Cape Town in South Africa, who we support for their Fikelela project:
I have just received the financial statements for November to February and there was evidence of your donation amounting to an amazing R24129.42 paid in at the end of December.
What an amazing amount and such a boost to our finances.
We will be packing 110 food parcels this afternoon and they will be delivered to the elderly and the vulnerable through various parishes throughout the Diocese. These parcels are always well received and even more so now as we reel from the effects of the Corona Virus. The poor have severely compromised immune systems as a result of HIV, TB and malnourishment, so we will continue to support them as much as we can.
We pack these parcels once a month and each parcel costs about R112 so your donation will provide for food for 200 people over the next 2 months. Please pass on our thanks and blessings to all who have made this possible and know that you have made a difference in so many lives. We will be looking to source a bulk supply of vitamins so that we can include a pack in each parcel from next month as we approach our winter and the obvious increase in Corona infections.
We send greetings from the Fikelela task team and St Thomas’ Parish to St Stephens and pray that we will all stay healthy.
